Effective September 5, 2026 · Operated by Optimistic Media
Optimistic Media LLC operates optimisticmedia.net and its subdomains, including our streaming service OPTtv (tv.optimisticmedia.net) and our Studio Portal (contentmanagement.optimisticmedia.net). This policy covers those websites. Our mobile apps (Dear Optimist, GenEraZions, Ice Cream Social) have their own privacy policies.
OPTtv accounts (optional): if you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name, and we store your watch progress so you can resume titles across devices.
Anonymous usage: we count video plays and ad impressions in aggregate. These counters are not tied to your identity.
Technical: standard server logs (IP address, browser type) processed by our hosting provider to deliver the sites and prevent abuse.
You can browse and watch OPTtv without an account.
Our Studio Portal (contentmanagement.optimisticmedia.net) is a content-management tool used by Optimistic Media staff and clients. When an account owner connects a social account (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or Shopify) through that platform's own login and consent screen, we receive and store: the account's display name or username, its platform account ID, and the access tokens the platform issues. For Pinterest we additionally store the identifiers and names of the account's boards, solely so a scheduled pin can be routed to the correct board, and the identifiers of pins we create. We do not collect or retain Pinterest analytics or any other user's Pinterest data.
We use this information for exactly two things: showing the owner which account is connected, and publishing content to that account only after the owner has approved it in the portal. We do not read followers, messages, direct messages, contacts, or any other account data on any platform, and we never post anything the owner has not approved.
How platform data is stored and protected. Access tokens and connection data are stored server-side only, in our database hosted by Supabase in the United States, encrypted at rest and protected by row-level access controls — only the account's owner and the staff assigned to that brand can see that a connection exists, and tokens themselves are never displayed to anyone. Platform data is never sold, and never shared with third parties for advertising or any other purpose.
How long platform data is kept. We retain a connected account's data only while the connection is active. Disconnecting an account in the portal deletes its stored tokens immediately; the remaining connection records (account name and ID) are removed when the brand is offboarded or on request.
How to revoke access. Either of these takes effect immediately: (1) in the Studio Portal, open Publishing settings and disconnect the account — this deletes our stored tokens at once; or (2) revoke our app from the platform's own settings, which invalidates the token on the platform's side. Per-platform paths are listed in each section below and on our Support page.
How to request deletion. Email hello@optimisticmedia.net from the account's email address. We confirm receipt and complete deletion of the requested data within 30 days.
When an owner connects a TikTok account, we collect the account's display name and avatar via TikTok's user.info.basic permission, the TikTok account identifier, and the OAuth access and refresh tokens TikTok issues on authorization. We use them solely to show the owner their connected account and to publish content the owner has created and approved to their own TikTok account through TikTok's Content Posting API. This data is stored encrypted at rest as described above, is retained only while the connection is active, and the tokens are deleted immediately on disconnect. We do not sell TikTok data or share it with third parties for advertising. To revoke access: disconnect TikTok in the Studio Portal, or in the TikTok app go to Profile → Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Apps and websites and remove our app. To request deletion of TikTok-related data, email hello@optimisticmedia.net; we respond within 30 days.
When an owner connects an Instagram or Facebook account, we collect the account or Page's name, its Meta account/Page identifier, and the access tokens Meta issues on authorization, and we use them solely to publish owner-approved content to that account via Meta's Graph API. Storage, retention, deletion-on-disconnect, and the no-selling/no-ad-sharing commitments above apply identically. To revoke access: disconnect the account in the Studio Portal, or remove our app under Settings → Apps and websites on Facebook or Instagram. Deletion requests: hello@optimisticmedia.net, answered within 30 days.
When an owner connects a Pinterest account, we collect the account's username, its Pinterest account identifier, and the OAuth tokens Pinterest issues, plus the identifiers and names of the account's boards — solely so a scheduled pin can be routed to the correct board — and the identifiers of pins we create on the owner's behalf. We do not collect or retain Pinterest analytics or any other user's Pinterest data. Storage, retention, deletion-on-disconnect, and the no-selling/no-ad-sharing commitments above apply identically. To revoke access: disconnect Pinterest in the Studio Portal, or remove our app under Settings → Security → Connected apps on Pinterest. Deletion requests: hello@optimisticmedia.net, answered within 30 days.
YouTube publishing is not yet live in the Studio Portal. When it launches, connecting a YouTube channel will work the same way: our application will use YouTube API Services, and by connecting a channel the owner agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of the data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We will collect only the channel's name, its identifier, and the OAuth tokens Google issues, use them solely to upload owner-approved videos to the owner's own channel, and apply the same storage, retention, and deletion rules as above. Owners will be able to revoke our access at any time in the portal or via Google security settings. Deletion requests: hello@optimisticmedia.net, answered within 30 days.
Our sites may show advertising, including sponsor messages we serve ourselves (which use no cookies and no personal data) and ads served by Google (AdSense / Ad Manager). Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads; see how Google uses ad data and manage your preferences at adssettings.google.com.

We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@optimisticmedia.net.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, with an in-app notice.
